How does the Tiny Desk AI generator work?

You upload one photo of one person. The video model builds a new desk-concert scene with that person as the lead singer, keeping the face, hair and outfit from your photo, and adds a band and live-room sound. You get a 15-second MP4.

No. You pay per video, once, with no subscription: 1 video is $8.90, 3 videos are $19.90 and 5 videos are $29.90.

How long does generation take?

Several minutes. You can close the page while it renders. Your video is waiting in My videos when you sign back in.

What photos work best?

A clear, front-facing photo in good light with the whole face visible and one person in it. Waist-up or full-body photos work best, so the outfit carries over. Avoid sunglasses, hats and masks.

Can I put more than one person in the video?

Not yet. Each video is made from one photo of one person, who sings lead. The band around them is AI-generated.

What happens if a video fails?

The video goes back to your account automatically and you can try again. You only pay for videos that finish.

What format and length is the video?

A 15-second, 9:16 vertical MP4 with sound, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. There is no other aspect ratio.

What happens to my photos?

Photos are used only to generate your video and are deleted as soon as the request ends. They are processed by our video generation provider only to make your video. We do not publish your photos or videos or use them to train AI.

Can I upload photos of other people?

Only photos of yourself or of adults who agreed to appear. Do not upload photos of celebrities, public figures, minors or anyone who has not given permission.

Do the videos I buy expire?

No. Videos you have paid for stay in your account until you make them. Finished videos are stored for 30 days with the 1 Video pack, or 1 year once you have bought 3 or 5 videos, so download the ones you want to keep.

Is this the official NPR Tiny Desk?

No. Tiny Desk AI is an independent tool, not affiliated with NPR or its Tiny Desk Concerts. The video is AI-generated, so do not present it as real footage.

Is the song from the viral videos?

No. The music and vocals in your video are generated by the AI model for your clip. We do not use the songs from the viral videos.

Q: What is the Tiny Desk AI trend?

AI videos that put unexpected people behind a small office desk, singing with a band, in the style of a desk concert. It took off in October 2026 with a clip of five college football coaches performing "Outstanding", then spread to NFL coaches, friends and coworkers.

Turn one photo into a desk concert. You sing lead at a cluttered office desk with a band behind you: keys, sax, backing singers and the sound. No filming, no editing.

Photo tips

Get a better result from the first upload

The model keeps what it can see. Give it a clear photo and it keeps the face, hair and outfit.

Use a clear, front-facing photo
Good light, face fully visible, one person in the photo.
Skip sunglasses, hats and masks
Anything covering the face makes the likeness drift.
Show your upper body
Waist-up photos give the singer a believable body and outfit behind the desk.
Only you, or someone who agreed
Use photos of yourself or of adults who gave permission.

What is the Tiny Desk AI trend?

In October 2026 a creator took Charlie Wilson's 2023 Tiny Desk performance of the Gap Band song "Outstanding" and used AI to recast the singers as five college football coaches who had all lost that Saturday. The clip passed 2 million views on TikTok and an estimated 10 million on X within days.

The format spread fast: NFL coaches, team owners, friends, bosses and group chats, each one squeezed behind a cluttered office desk, singing with a band. The joke is always the casting: someone you would never expect, giving it everything at the desk.

This generator makes your own version from one photo: a new 15-second desk concert with you as the lead singer, a band behind you and AI-generated sound. It is AI-generated video, not real footage, and an independent tool, not affiliated with NPR or its Tiny Desk Concerts.
